Welcome to the Pier 5 Hotel

As you pull up Harbor Magic Drive and pass the Power Plant entertainment complex and the National Aquarium- youll realize just how fabulous the Pier 5 Hotels waterfront location really is. Step inside the three-story atrium lobby and gaze in wonder as vaulted ceilings kiss gem-toned walls and plush velvet couches welcome the weary legs of urban explorers. The Pier 5 Hotel is an enthralling blend of comfortably hip designs- vibrant colors and some gorgeous harbor views. And with three of the citys best restaurants Ruths Chris-Pier 5- McCormick Schmicks and Peacock Cafe off the hotel Lobby- its no wonder the Pier 5 Hotel is considered a destination in itself. ...read more

With an "awesome" location on its own pier, "right next door to the aquarium and all of Inner Harbor", this "boutique"-ish hotel offers "spacious" rooms (some with "excellent" views), "comfortable" beds and a "colorful" and slightly "art deco" interior, plus "two well-known restaurants" attached; and while guests may get "irritated" by a "mandatory" daily fee for Internet and other amenities (especially as there's "no fitness center on-site"), the afternoon culinary "crabby hour" brings a smile.

Lively, clean, nice atmosphere, courteous staff.
Placement of electrical outlets, not enough hotel info in room.

The hotel was very nice and comfortable, but there were a few shortfalls. Staff kept directing me to the wrong floor when I asked how to get to the vending machine. I asked for more wash cloths and towels and they were brought to me quickly, but the towels were hand towels, not towels for drying after a bath/shower. There was no information in the room regarding restaurants or hotel amenities, and when I went to the desk to ask about food they could not provide any information or pamphlets concerning my issue. There was no (alarm) clock in the room! Several electrical appliances were not plugged in. I had to plug them in myself. The website stated that there would be 2 complimentary bottles of water in the room per day, but when we arrived we were told that the water would cost $10 per day (even if we only opened 1 bottle)! We were only staying for 1 night, so there was no way I was going to pay $10 for a bottle of water. After the mistakes that were made with the towels that I requested, the attendant still expected a tip! ...read more

Location, decor, Crabby Hour with complimentary wine. friendly front desk staff.
Unexpected destination charge on the final bill.

Very pleasant and clean facility. We only stayed one night, but the room was comfortable and employees were friendly. We were part of a group cruising from Baltimore the following day, and the lobby and Crabby Hour gave us a nice venue to gather as a group the night before. ...read more

It had great location and the lobby was exceptionally cool.
They tried to charge a destination fee and gave me 2 doubles instead of a king.

The staff goes out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay.
